THE RAMBLIN’ BROOKS

The RAMBLIN’ BROOKS
This jam-friendly hard-hitting Rock’n’Roll quintet is fresh on the Central NY music scene but their sound is far more seasoned and well traveled. And for good reason. The RAMBLIN’ BROOKS was formed just over a year ago by recent transplant and troubadour Adam Brooks Dudding (5 independent albums and multiple national tours to his credit already–see below) along with award-winning local musicians Brendan O’Connor Drums, Alex Lavon Bass, Colin Nevison Keys, Zach Collins Guitar. This group of talented performers and long-time members of regional darlings Rabbit In The Rye (Brendan, Alex) and Son Bully/Same Blood Folk (Zach, Colin, Brendan) are joining forces, stretching out and having a blast rehearsing, performing and writing together. And it shows. The RAMBLIN’ BROOKS are already drawing crowds and conjuring comparisons to classic groups like The Band, Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers and Wilco while on stage.

Recently the band recorded new material at SubCat Studios in Syracuse, NY and plan on sharing singles off their upcoming debut EP RELATED ELEVATIONS starting late Spring 2017. Currently The RAMBLIN’ BROOKS are booking performances for the Summer and Fall to help promote their studio debut and entertain live music fans longing to move, groove and be moved.

Adam BROOKS Dudding is an acclaimed songwriter and seasoned guitarist originally from Dayton, Ohio. He started composing and performing music in high school and fronted a variety of bands while attending Bowling Green State University where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in creative writing and guitar performance in 1998.

In 2001, shortly after recording and releasing his first solo record Horizon, Dudding moved to Columbus, OH.  Teaching guitar lessons during the day, at night he rehearsed and performed with the Americana ensemble he formed — Bucktown Kickback. Writing the songs and leading the band, he also co-produced the group’s 3 independent albums (Speakeasy, Lost In Your Own Hometown, fiction pickin’), booked and road managed each national tour.

In 2006 Dudding moved to Nashville, TN.  After landing a job at the world famous Bluebird Cafe (a legendary music venue and ‘mecca’ for songwriters) he met, listened to and learned from Music City’s best on a nightly basis. He’s had the opportunity to collaborate with talented writers on and off Music Row, forging songs with notable practitioners including Mark Irwin, Jon Pardi, AJ Masters, Mark BrinkmanChris Henry, Charlie Pate, Leith LoftinAlison Clement and many more.

In 2012 Dudding’s music began attracting an international spotlight after spending nearly a year in Shanghai, China where he maintained a vigorous schedule of weekly performances.  Upon meeting Inner Mongolian mandolin virtuoso Tom Pang, the two formed The Shanghai Newgrass Project and recorded their studio debut In The Moment (also w/ Charles Butler, Hanneke Cassel, Shunzi, Jasmine Chen) released in July 2013.

Dudding and his family now reside in Upstate, N.Y. where he’s currently rehearsing, performing and working on new material with The RAMBLIN’ BROOKS and entertaining audiences in multiple forms – Singer/Songwriter, Acoustic-Roots Ensemble as well as full-on Rock’n’Roll Band.  He’s excited about contributing more to the growing catalog at Whirled Werks Music and continuing to perform his original songs for fans new and old.

SOME PRESS
“Sliding easily from Bluegrass to Country to a rootsy Americana at the drop of a wide-brimmed hat…The country palette of the Grateful Dead, The Roots Pop spark of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.”
CITYBEAT, Cincinnati, OH

“Plenty of tear jerking honky-tonk, a sprinkle of rock swagger and singer-songwriter flair, and Dudding’s love of narrative songwriting and easygoing melodies…Blurring the lines between Americana, jamgrass, honky-tonk and roots rock…Fans of artists such as The Gourds, Yonder Mountain String Band, the Grateful Dead and Whiskeytown will find plenty to cheer about in his songs and eclectic-but-focused style”
HIGH COUNTRY PRESS, Boone, NC

“Dudding and his Ace Americana band…smart, rootsy”
THE TENNESSEAN, Nashville, TN

“Dudding (singer, songwriter and creative force behind Bucktown Kickback) produced much of the band’s 2nd disc ‘Lost In Your Hometown’ to sound like prime Appalachia. The record effectively balances roots grit and country rock coherence. “Seven Number Blues” is an enlightened redneck tune that sounds like a “Basement Tapes” leftover. “That’s Life” is a slow burn of honky-tonk molasses. A Neil Young-type rocker, “A Shooting Star,” closes the record. But at the heart of the record is Dudding’s songs and lived-in vocals. While the embellishments are tasteful, the material could stand up fine presented by Dudding and his acoustic.”
